About Mrs. Cranfill
Welcome to the first grade! I am so excited to be your child's teacher! Here's a little bit about me...
I was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota and grew up in a large family of 7 children! After graduating from high school, I made the trek out to Colorado in order to obtain a degree at the University of Northern Colorado in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in teaching English as a second language. I LOVE teaching! This will be my 8th year teaching and I have enjoyed every year of it. I am thrilled to be joining the 1st-grade team at Inspire Elementary. I have spent the past five years teaching K/1 at Tavelli Elementary School up in Fort Collins. Before that I was teaching overseas in Kuwait at an American school. I have traveled, and volunteered as an English teacher all over the world including places like Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Outside of school...
I live in the Stapleton area with my husband! You'll hear about him from time to time! He goes by Scientist Clark and comes in periodically to do fun science activities with my students. I really enjoy going for walks, reading, gardening, and more recently I rediscovered a love for playing the piano. I am so thankful that my parents made me stick with piano lessons, because it is such a gift to be able to sit and play all these years later. I thoroughly enjoy cooking. My husband and I are part of a gourmet cooking group that meets once a month to try different foods! I also really love great coffee and cannot start teaching in the morning without a good cup of dark roast coffee!
I am looking forward to a great year with your child! If you ever have any questions or concerns, contact me anytime.
