Happy Groundhog’s day! I was bummed to have 6 more weeks of winter! I just LOVE spring so darn much. But, the kids had a fun day making predictions and finding out if Puxatsawny Phil saw his shadow. Tomorrow we’ll be celebrating the 100th day of school! It’s been a week of celebrations!
Reminders
VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY: Ryder’s mom is planning a Valentine’s Day party for February 14. If you’re interested in helping her out, or are available to come in that day, let me know by e-mailing me ([email protected]).
READING GOALS: We have new reading goals. Students who meet their reading goals will get a reward at the end of February. We have decided to eat our hot and cold lunches in the classroom and then bring games to play as a class. If your child meets their reading goal, they will get to bring their favorite game from home in and after we eat lunch in the classroom, we’ll have a game day.
5210 CHALLENGE: The schools on the move challenge purple sheet log is going home today. During the month of February students and staff will be tracking their 5210 habits with the goal of getting at least 60 checks to earn a t-shirt. Your child will be logging if they eat 5 fruits and vegetables a day, have 2 hours or less of recreational screen time, 1 hour or more of physical activity, and 0 sugary drinks!
BOOK ORDER: are going home today. Please return book orders by Friday February 10.
VALENTINE’S DAY LIST: I sent home a pink list today with all the kid’s names for your child’s Valentine’s Day cards. Students can bring cards to class on Friday and we’ll pass them out to our Valentine’s bags.
CONFERENCES: I sent home a green form a couple days ago. Please read over the form and return to me ASAP.
