This week really flew by! I always enjoy weeks before a holiday. The kids are all abuzz with excitement. We did a lot of Halloween activities this week. Your child will get to bring a bunch of those crafts home on Monday. We are floored about our new paragraph writing! Kids are really taking on to the concept of planning your writing out, and then writing a rough draft, and editing and revising. It’s been so cool to see their minds work as they get their ideas down on paper.
Reminders
RED FOLDER: RED Folders are due tomorrow. The folder should only take about 20-30 minutes a night. Students should be doing about 5-10 minutes of Math IXL, 10 minutes of word practice (they can choose from the nonsense words, poem worksheet, spelling words, sight words, or sight word sentences) and 10-15 minutes of reading with you or another person.
Important Dates:
Nov. 10th is the last day of our First Trimester
Nov. 11th is NO SCHOOL for Students
Nov. 17th Report Cards will go home with students
HALLOWEEN: Our school policy is we do not wear Halloween costumes to school. We have planned fun activities to do with your kid next Monday, but please don’t send them to school in costumes. There will also be a fall festival at our school tomorrow Friday October 28 from 6-8 PM where your child can wear their Halloween costume. Please join us for trick-or-treating throughout the building, a spooky dance in the gym, and Halloween games in the cafeteria.
Running club: K-2 Running Club is up and running. If your kid is in running club and it is cancelled, look for an e-mail letting you know. I will also message you through class dojo. If I don’t hear otherwise, I will assume your child is doing running club after school.
