Can you believe there are only 7 weeks of school left?! It feels like yesterday that it was the first day of school. We are working on writing letters to each other. We’re also continuing on with our bird unit, and reviewing concepts learned throughout the school year. Today we planted Marigold seeds, so we could watch them grow in our classroom. We’ll get to take them home at the end of the year.
Thank you all who came in for mystery reader! April is the end of mystery reader. May is a jam-packed month for me as far as getting through things and finishing projects. If your child didn’t have a chance to have at least 1 family member come in and read, please reach out, and we’ll get you scheduled for mystery reader. It’s been really fun having all of you come in!

Reminders
BOOK ORDER: I am sending home the last book order of the year on Friday. It will be due on Friday May 3 to ensure the order makes it by the end of the school year. This is the last book order of the school year. You can order online through: Book Order
ZOO FIELD TRIP: First grade is going to the Zoo on April 25. As a part of our Bird’s unit in our Expeditionary Learning curriculum, we’re going to the zoo so we can see different birds up close and explore other animals at the zoo. Please make sure your child comes to school on time. Wristbands for students and parents riding the bus will be distributed the morning of the field trip. This is your admission ticket to the zoo. I will give wristbands to families meeting us at the Zoo when we arrive. We will not meet at the main entrance of the Zoo. If you are meeting us there, please meet us at gate 9 (the field trip entrance). We are leaving the school at 9:15 and should get to the zoo around 9:30.
Your child needs to bring a:

STUDENT PRESENTTION OF LEARNING: is on May 16 from 5-6 PM. This is a night where students can bring families into the classroom to show them around and show them all the things we’ve learned throughout the school year.
CLASS PICTURES: Our class pictures will be Tuesday April 23. If you would like to order class pictures please return the class picture form in your child’s blue folder before April 23. Please, please, please make it a priority to have your child at school that day. We really want everyone in our class picture.

READING LOG: We had so much fun eating lunch in the classroom, that we’re going to do it again for students who complete one whole page in their reading log! Continue reading and filling out those reading logs! You can even log Istation practice time, sight word practice, or nonsense word practice into the log. Any form of reading practice counts!
YEAR END AUCTION: Join us for Inspire's Year End Celebration and Auction which will be held at Eighteen76 @ Dick's Sporting Goods Park on April 20. It will be a fun night for the adults of our school community to enjoy food, drinks, and bid on lots of awesome items, including vacations, stay-cations, certificates for local attractions and restaurants, kid's activities, classroom art, awesome teacher experiences (including a nature walk/breakfast with Mrs. Lambert and myself and a computer coding class on a Saturday with my husband and myself), and more! This is one of the biggest fundraisers for our school and the PTO’s goal this year is to raise money to continue our wonderful Specials program. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
