It was so wonderful to get to meet so many of you at Back to School night. Glad we could get rolling with the homework folders. I hope they’ve been meaningful for you to know a bit more of what we’re doing in class. If you ever have problems or questions, e-mail me anytime. Communication is so important to me. I want to know what your child is telling you at home, whether they’re excited about school or sad to go to school every day. The more I know, the more I can help foster a love of school in them and build up their confidence. I want your child to LOVE coming to school. They are so very precious to me.
Reminders:
FIELD TRIP: We are going on a field trip to the Environmental learning center on Friday October 13. Permission forms will be going home at the beginning of October. I’m writing early because I’m looking for 5 parents to volunteer to ride the bus and chaperone. If you’re interested, e-mail me. If you’re not able to go on this trip, we’re going to be taking two more later on.
RED FOLDERS: Red homework folders go home every week. Your child is required to do a math page every night, spelling practice, read a book and practice sight words or CVC words. It should take no longer than 30 minutes. Folders go home every Monday and are due back on Fridays. Your child gets their Friday fun if all their work is finished. I do not give homework on the weekends.
DUATHALON: is tomorrow, Friday, September 22nd! The Duathlon begins at 5:30 right here at Tavelli.

VOLUNTEER: I have contacted parents interested in volunteering, who filled out the blue form on meet the teacher day. If you didn’t get a chance to fill that form out, and are interested in helping out in the classroom, e-mail me and I will send a form for you to fill out in your child’s Thursday folder.
THURSDAY FOLDERS: Please have your child bring back their yellow folder every day. I check them daily for any note or important documents from you. If you need to send lunch money, notes, or any other pertinent information to me, stick it in your child’s yellow folder and I will be sure to get it.
CONFERENCES: I am sending home a conference form for you to fill out. Please fill out the best times you can come in to do conferences with me the week of October 16. I will have times available before and after school. I really want to work with your schedule. It’s super important we get to meet and touch base about your child’s academic and social growth.
